How often should you replace your beauty sponge?
Hey Doll!
Do you remember that time a person cut a makeup sponge, and the horrifying (and moldy) results went viral? Sorry for reminder , but there's a lesson to be learned here: Just like cosmetic products, makeup sponges have expiration dates too— and they shouldn't be ignored and here's why.
It's so important to WASH and eventually replace your tools (i.e. Blenders, sponges, wedges, puffs, towels etc.) you use to apply or remove your daily face. For blenders and sponges, you should wash regularly and replace every three months at least. We recommend using our Natural Brush Soap for deep cleaning any beauty tool.Check out the reviews and ingredients.
Ideally, we should be cleansing our tools after every use to avoid bacteria buildup. The sponges become filled with skin cells and bacteria can overgrow in that area. And that overgrowth if unnoticed can irritate skin and blemishes, if you have them. If there are any potential allergens remaining in the sponge after makeup application, then it's believed that repeated contact could lead to an inflammatory rash. Again why it's so important to DEEP CLEAN your tools. Our soap is 100% natural therefore safe to use on even the most sensitive of skins.
How Can you determine if it's time to replace your blender?
Give Your Beauty Sponge a Health Check
If you’re thinking your sponge is nearing the end of its road, it’s time to do a health check. Typically, our beauty sponges last anywhere from 3 to 6 months, depending on how well you take care them. A good way to think of it is by season. Once the weather changes and a new season comes in, give your sponge a check-up. It may have more life left in it than you think!
If you notice your sponge is misshapen, give it a good deep-clean before tossing it. Remember: clean tools= flawless application. You might notice your sponge bouncing even better after a good cleanse to get any leftover product out.
REFRESH
Our all-natural, vegan, Pro Brush Soap gently removes grime and buildup while conditioning and sanitizing. The key to keeping your sponge in pristine condition is to clean it after every use. We know, we know–it seems like a daunting task. An everyday cleanse is ideal, but it’s okay if you miss a day or two. Just remember to do a deep clean whenever you get the chance for ultimate freshness.
RECYCLE
A sponge with nicks and tears can still be used, but know that it’s close to the end of its life.
The goal is to keep the bouncy, cushy softness of your sponge for as long as possible for the ultimate bounce factor and an even application. It’s the bounce that gives that flawless, airbrushed finish we all know and love. If you’ve been using the same sponge for a while and notice that it’s not as squishy or pillowy as it once was after cleansing, it might be time to toss it.
